I was pretty surprised to see content related advertising next to this new page from the first post.

They have Free videos about getting out of a plugged bunker, hitting out of a divot, using a wedg to put etc..

About 2 weeks ago the 41th Belgie-Holland for PGA's was played in Spa. It seems like this event hasn't been around lateley so this new "tournament" in Spa was the first attempt to the organisation of a new Tournament in the Benelux.

Little visibility or noise about the event altough usually when Belgium beats the Netherlands in other sports it's prime news on the TV/Radio

Anyhow GolfTV.be has an item on the event so you can get an idea of what happened.

Yesterday was AntwerpenGolft, the start was in the MiddelHeim park, where beginners got their first introduction on the mini driving range, or more experience players could warm up in the mini driving range.

After the warmup or initiation the start of the 9 hole course was in the same park.
As you wre playing with AlmostGolf balls, the first hole was the hole where you got to learn the difference between a real gollfbal and the Almost Golfbal.. mostly distance but also the fact that the wind had much more control on the balls. So basically... a good score on the first hole was a miracle :)
What would you hit on a 76 meter par 3 ? A Sandwedge or a pitch ? Guess again .. with an Almost Golfbal you'll need that Iron 7, and you probably wo't reach the green.

After another 34 meter par3 you arrived at the nicest hole of the course. A 174 meter par 4. The organisation had created a couple of par4, by adding doglegs to the course that made it more difficult to reach the green with 1 shot.

Now when on a normal course you have a par3 that means 1 shot to the green 2 puts. The problem with a course created especially for this 1 day event is that you can't create a perfect green. So 2 puts were almost out of the question, even with bigger holes 2 puts were rareties.
The nr3 par 4 was a dogleg to the right on the back of the "Den Brandt" Castle, I wouldn't mind if they kept that hole there. Agreed .. it should only be a par3 when hitting it with a real ball but still , a nice location and nice hole that would perfectly fit in a real course.

2 more short par 4 doglegs further you had to cross the Antwerp ring before you could continue the course via a par 3 in Domein Hertoge, then a par3 in Albert Park . A putting contest in the Saab showroom was combined with a nice refreshment , a Chipping contest in front of the AWW building . The Antwerp Botanic Garden was turned into a small putting green.

The final hole in the StadsPark was an uphil par3, one of the longer ones on the course.

The weather wasn't perfect, with much rain and some lightning and thunder during the day.
That probably delayed much of the golfers and posphoned the price giving.

I recently ran into Golfbe.tv which is a site with video content about Golf, mainly aimed at the Belgian audience but also has sections about Travel and Tips.

It's a good thing to create more visibility about what's going on at different events and have video streams about it since almost none of the regular TV Channels give Golf content.
