Wellington Oostend

A couple of years a go when we first started playing, we played a couple of times at the 6 hole course that was build inside the racing grounds. The course was perfect for us starters..you got what you paid for, it was perfectly located , the quality of the course was good enough for a beginner and it was a change from our regular 6 hole course at the Golf School on top of that it was cheap 5 Euro/round

Wellington then started working on their final course a 9 hole one.
When their first 6 holes of the final course were finished, well almost. We went to play there .. the price had changed significantly but the greens weren't really playable yet, apart from that It felt like everywhere on the course you were playing from temporary water, the fairways were soaked.

Fast forward about 21 months to last month, and what a change. The greens have matured, the fairways are dry. And the last 3 holes have been added. Only 1 temporary teebox left and it looked like also that hole (the 2nd) is nearing completion. My first round there obviously was a small disaster, mostly because I`m not used to the sea wind coming into play, but the overal quality of the course really is up to par now.

As we were in Ostend for a longer period I decided to walk the course again 2 days later ... played well , and with a great par on the last hole , I played 19 points over the 9 holes.

I have to say that Welllington is not for people who are afraid of water. It's pretty much all over the place.

Obviously I`ll be playing there more :)
